UPDATED: Coach Paton Summer Camp Information

Dear Camper and Parent,

Thank you for being a part of the annual field hockey camp at Northern Highlands! We are excited to have you as a part of our field hockey family!

Dates: July 25 - July 28, 2022
Hours: 8:30am - 12:30pm
Location: Northern Highlands Regional High School, Allendale, NJ 07401

Camp will begin at 8:30am sharp each day. Drop off and pickup will take place at the stadium at Northern Highlands (298 Hillside Ave, Allendale, NJ).

UPDATED LIST OF WHAT TO BRING – PLEASE READ!  We would like you to bring the following items with you each day: Highlands pinnie (If you are new to the program you will recieve one on the first day of camp), field hockey stick, shin guards, a mouth guard, goggles are optional, and a full water jug. There WILL NOT be communal water jugs for campers to refill their water bottles. I highly recommend bringing a 64oz water jug filled entirely with ice and water or bring a small cooler filled with 3 or 4 regular-sized, cold water bottles. The heat will be at its peak during the camp and it’s important to ensure all campers have a sufficient water supply. I recommend that campers begin hydrating 1-2 days before the camp, eat a balanced breakfast, and use the bathroom prior to arrival. Additionally, there will be time built in to each camp day for a snack. Please send your camper with a nutritious snack like a granola bar, fruit, etc. There will always be a med kit and ice on hand should minor injuries occur. Make sure to include a crew athletic sock (e.g. nike crew or similar) that can fit over your camper’s stick, since camp will be moved inside to the back gym should there be lightening or thunder. The gym floor requires a sock to be placed over a stick or the camper cannot play. And make sure to pack a pair of sneakers as well, because cleats and turf shoes are not allowed on the gym floor.

Pickup each day is at 12:30pm sharp in the same place as drop off.

Field hockey drills and activities will vary throughout camp. As a camp coaching staff, our goal is to teach new skills, reinforce fundamental skills, and provide an encouraging learning environment for all campers of all skill levels and ages. These skill themes focus on offensive strategies, defensive strategies (including goalkeepers), game-like strategies, and technical skill development. All of the coaches are here to help all campers, to make all campers feel comfortable, and to answer any questions a camper may have along the way. We are looking forward to working with all of the campers each day!

Please reach out with any questions you might have. An email will be sent out by 7:30am in the event of severe inclement weather (thunder, lightning, etc).
